Sikap Orang German yang Orang Malaysia Patut Contohi

saya sangat wonder kenapa orang German has a very good attitude?sangat baik. sangat berdispilin. and i see a lof of good things in German people that we should emulate. didikan awal barangkali that turned them to be  a good person? ok we discuss about that later. now, mempersembahkan list of attitude orang German yang awesome yang patut kita contohi:

1) orang German sangat precise, tepat dan jitu when it comes to TIME

         - dialog berbunyi seperti ini: "Wani, you need to take the bus number 293 to get you to the office. here in Germany you can plan your schedule because the bus will follow the time exactly as written in the bus timetable." (yang ditampal di tiang), said my colleague. "oh please don't lie, if it shows 7.04 am, the bus will not be here 704 sharp right? (dengan nada yang agak sombong sambil terbayang situasi di Malaysia), said Wani innocently. my collleague smiles and said "you will know it tomorrow", atau dalam kata lainnya (tak percaya lantak kau lah wani, ada aku kesah??).
the next day and the day after, and until today (Day 15 in Germany), my colleague said it right!. kalau  jadual bas tu tulis pukul 7.04, memang bus akan sampai sharp 7.04 ok!!!!! sangat2 jarang dia datang 7.03 or 7.05. giler ah aku sangat impressed with the German Precision.

      - oh disebabkan German Precision ini, if one day you are late, and you are running fast, trying to catch the bus and there you are, knocking the bus door dengan muka kesian (dengan harapan pintu akan terbuka), you are wrong.
the driver will not open the door for you even you are just a milisecond late! walaupun muka kau dah terpampang depan bas, tinggal tunggu dia bukakkan je. this is because the bus drivers do not want to be late and thus not following the German precision. "time and tide wait for no man" memang harus dipraktikkan di sini ye adik-adik.

2) orang German sangat berbudi bahasa di mana sahaja mereka berada.

         - first situation that i experienced with the politeness of the Germans are at the shopping mall or supermarket. you are queuing at the kasse (bahasa inggerisnya ialah cashier counter) to pay for your goods and when your turn comes, the cashier will always greet you (in German of course). kau faham ke, tak faham ke dia tak peduli ye. janji dia greet with a sweetest smile in the world and said "hello, wie getse ihre?". (ok nasib baik yang ni aku faham).

         - second situation that takes place is in the bus. it was a monday morning where the bus i took is crowded with so many people and there is no seats available. the bus stopped at one station and there was a pregnant lady coming in. guess who is offering her a seat? jengjengjeng... a guy with a punk hair and he has tattoos on all over his arms! sounds unbelievable? believe it baybeh...

baby with punk hair adalah sangat comelness!
*googled pic*

i remember reading stories from  hannah's blog, that she is travelling with bus everyday to work and still taking a bus until her pregnancy reached 9months!! i am really impressed with you, Hannah Johary! anda memang wanita cekal!
now, please imagine the situation when you are finished with a very hard day at work, you are waiting for the bus like forever (how i wish Malaysian Precision is implemented here), and when you get into the bus, you are not being offered a seat and you were standing like hours in the bus! kemon, doncha see my huge belly and my swollen feet, holding this stupid bag and stupid umbrella? (aik, beg dengan payung tersebut tak bersalah kott? kesian mereka digelar stupid). tolong kesian sikit kat perempuan mengandung boleh tak???!!!@@@!!! dahla we have this morning sickness like crazy, tu belum masuk cerita Hyperemesis Gravida (severe nausea and severe vomitting during pregnancy). and you think we can rest like a queen at home even we are carrying a 3kilos baby inside us??? ha? boleh fikir takk???!! boleh ke tak???!!!!

ok, next situation that takes place was at the supermarket. now imagine this in your brilliant head please: You go to tesco to do a monthly groceries shop. you must go to tesco because there is the only place that has a lot of entertainment for the kids- it's their playland! (tesco please bayar royalti dekat saya sekarang).
then you go to one alley to another. you take diaper, milk, detergent and so on for a one month stock. kemudian kau turut hawa nafsu kau untuk membeli aiskrim, chocolates, junk foods and instant maggi mee.
you put everything in the trolley sambil buat calculation in your head. sebab tu awal2 saya mention brilliant head kerana perlu jadi brilliant to do a mathematical calculation here.
then you have left the dry food area and now entering to the cold area where they put juices, yoghurts, nuggets. tiba2 kau rasa tak jadi beli maggi mee because tetiba rasa macam makan megi is bad for your health. will you go back to the dry area, return the maggi mee back to it's original place? or you will just leave it in the place where you stand?
pernah nampak tak satu rack yoghurt tetiba tersesat ada a pack of maggi mee kat situ? itu nama dia pemalas. saya juga sometimes tidak ketinggalan untuk bersikap begitu ye. ish teruk betul.. but for the Germans, they will not do that! i saw it in front of my eyes, they will returned it back to where it  belongs. bagus kan?

3) orang German mengamalkan gaya hidup sihat.

      -  you know how do they go to work?  = cycling and walking.
     - you know what they have for breakfast? = salads, juices, fruits, oats.
      - you know what is their activity in the weekend? = jogging, gardening, bring kids to playground. (playground kat German tak macam kat Malaysia yg penuh dengan vandalisme. playground in Germany ada swimming pool ok)

4) orang German sangat strict to the rules.

             - they practice "reduce-reuse-recycle" in their day to day life. every house has their 4 recycle bins and they put garbage according to the categories. memang ikut betul2, kalau plastik masuk dalam plastic bin.
i have it also in my apartment where i stay, tapi aku bantai je bubuh semua sampah tak kiralah plastik ke ,paper ke, bottles ke, left over food ke, masuk dalam satu tong sahaja. hahah agak pemalas di situ. sorry ye majlis perbandaran erlangen...

           - for working ethic, they have an akta says , "every employee is not allowed to come to work on public holidays". (kalau kat Malaysia dapat triple pay kalau kerja public holiday kan?) second rule says " no employee is allowed to work more than 10 hours per day" (kalau kat Malaysia, lebih 12jam pun ada orang kerja sebab nak kejar OT punya pasal). third rule says "employee is not allowed to work alone under any circumstances".(kalau kat Malaysia, aku selalu jugak kerja sorang2 dalam office).
sedar tak kenapa such rules are being implemented in Germany? reason is because they want us, parents to have more time with the family. supaya anak2 tak terabai.

5) orang German sangat berterus terang.

            - when they say No, they mean it. when they say Yes, they mean it. takde selindung2 ye. tak macam kita kan orang melayu sangat pandai menjaga hati. we, malaysians are very hard to say NO. sebab tu kot one of the main reasons why most malay couples are divorced because they are not being honest, communication-failure. sebab apa? sebab tak berterus terang, nak jaga hati, so pendam, lama2 meletup.

i think thats all for now. oh, of course there also bad things about them that i wish i can fly to Malaysia right here, right now, tapi kita tulis yang baik2 jelah kan. tiru yang mana elok ler ye dak.

waktu di Malaysia sekarang : 1.59 am.
waku di Germany sekarang: 7.59 pm.

Tips When You Shop for Groceries in a Foreign Country

wow, wani bagi tips macamni?? biar betul der, takkan wani yang drama queen, ratu air mata pergi travel outside malaysia? hehe sounds unbelievable? believe it or not, yes i am invited by the project manager in Germany (gi europe bai...kau mampu?? hahah)
to complete the big dmr (design modification request) and frr (field requisition request) bop from customer. yes, from now on you will find a lot of engineering terms used in this blog. saja je ngada2 tulis engineering terms bagai sebab in future mungkin dah tak masuk line engineering dah, so mesti tulis dalam blog untuk kenangan pada masa hadapan.

since customers are requesting to upgrade the power plant from open cycle to combined cyle , therefore a lot of modifications needed (hardware and software), thousands of wiring documentations involved, ordering new DCS cabinets are planned.

back to my Germany story, today is my 11th day in Germany and alhamdulillah i survived. haha! and one way to survive is to make sure you have a lot of food in your fridge. dok la merapu meraban, mana tipsnya?

ok..presenting...my tips and tricks that you can apply when you are in a foreign country, and you are alone, and your fridge is empty, your stok makanan are running out, and you don't speak german, and the worst part, the cashier at the supermarket refuses to speak english.dia sedap je cakap german dia dengan harapan ada perkataan german yang sama maksud dengan perkataan english. ha acane tu acane tu? susahkan?

1- first and foremost is...to have sufficient cash. you don't want to be charged rm12 to withdraw cash from atm in the country you visit, doncha? and you will not be able pun to withdraw cash using your local atm card if you have not instructed the bank to activate your top plus. activating top plus means your local atm card can be used at any atm machine in entire world. (cuba baca perenggan ke-2, "you will not be able pun". bahasa sanskrit apakah itu? ish3...)

2- secondly, (mesti ke tulis secondly? bukan dah ada nombor 2 ke kat belah kiri tu?) is to have small notes and small coins. i used to be a cashier at carrefour supermarket, wangsa maju during my semester break. dan saya rasa nak bagi makan maki sahaja kepada manusia yang beli bawang singgit dan bayar guna rm100. ha bengang tak, bengang tak?
so, to avoid being cursed by the cashier (in german pulak tu), please bring small notes. dan lagi satu, small coin if you would like to use the trolley. in germany, u need to put 1euro.

3- when you are entering the fruits alley and you wish to buy fruits, salads or any veges, please choose any fruits that comes in a package, with a price tag. do not take anything that has no bar code. yela takde barcode nak scan guane? and another thing, please imagine this situation in your head: you in your most stunning outfit (eh apa kena mengena), grab 2 tomatoes (beli 2 je, nak jimat punya pasal,) walking to the weighing counter (dengan penuh konfiden sekali) alih2 you find the weighing scale instructions are in german.dang! please note that it is different in germany , there is no one sitting at the weighing counter to help you ye. you need to do it yourself. kalau salah tekan macamana?
sebenarnya motif yang saya hendak sampaikan di point no.3 is kita seboleh2 kena buat benda yang akan mengurangkan komunikasi dengan cashier. just pay and leave. kalau dah salah tekan, kang macam2 pulak soalan arise from the cashier. kalau cakap english, takpe. ini stok bangsa cakap jerman dan tak pedulik orang faham ke tak.

4- next tip is to do some research/google translate of things you want to purchase before making a move to the kaufland/aldi/arcaden (nama2 supermaket di erlangen, germany). contoh: salz=salt, kurkuma=kunyit, zucker=sugar.

5-finally, aim products which has lowest price (ofcross darling, duit euro 4kali ganda duit rm kottt).

semua ni berharga 24 euro sahaja ye! (sile jangan convert ke rm) bayangkan beli banyak macam ni kat Malaysia dapat tak rm20?

shampoo and lip balm is a must item to have when you are in Germany! cuaca  sangat  sejuk dan kering  menyebabkan dry lips yang so-not-sexy and hair yang macam ranting kayu

for breakfast! oh how i miss nasi lemak sambal sotong

things needed to cook a pasta. reti ke wani? ahhh, mr google kan ada!

roti berharga 0.49 euro

i think that's all for now. gute nacht!

Nursing Room at office - after years of waiting ~

I have just received an email about the new nursing room has been completely built and ready to be used! Alhamdulillah, finally yayy! Sepantas kilat i took my breastpumps kit (Spectra3-my love) and bring it to 15th floor! My first impression was- WOW! Super cosy, with a big mirror and super clean. this is what we called a motivation.:) i am now so motivated to express milk on schedule, every 3 hours, no delay like i always did. my plan is to purchase a drying rack, a bottle brush, a brush cleanser and place it there. how i wish there is a fridge in the room so i can store my EBM. (eh tak bersyukurnya, dah ada nursing room mintak fridge pulak). i should have remember the hard times when i expressed milk in small prayer room with everyone watching .(malunya!!) Thank you Allah for this great facility.

I am back, and will keep on writing...

I have stopped writing since 2010, and here i am trying to express what i feel inside. Lots of happiness and sadness i've been through. I will try to write as many as i can, as many as i remember so i won't forget the good things that have happened in my life! Bear with me, my dear diary! :)
